Last week, Bosch announced that it has acquired Climatec, a full-service provider of energy efficiency, security, fire safety, and building automation solutions for an undisclosed amount. Climatec is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona and has a presence in California, Nevada, and Texas with 670 employees. Private equity firm, Pegasus Capital Advisors, purchased majority ownership of Climatec in April 2012 and helped to increase sales to an estimated $190M in 2014.
Climatec will continue to operate independently as a part of Bosch’s Energy and Technology Group. Climatec’s business model is a combination between manufacturer’s rep, installer, and aftermarket services across multiple systems. This vertical integration demonstrates Bosch’s long term strategic goal of being a single source provider for building owners.
